First licensed in 1938 as W2LBF. Was employed in Ham Department by a well known Distributor located on "Radio Row" Cortland Street, NYC. World War 2. had him overseas in the Pacific with the Signal Corps. The War ended and he started his own parts distributor selling to industrial users. In 1958 he moved to Los Angeles expanding the company coast to coast. Walt enjoyed world traveling via many cruise ships and made lots of Ham contacts found on the NET. He was able to make visits scheduled via those contacts and many "eyeball QSO's" were made. Walt's activity resulted in a close friendship with Jerry Branson who inherited the NET when Bill Bennett became a silent key. When Jerry hatched the "Trustee Plan",  the NET found Walt.
