Jerry and his Station

Bio for Jerry NB7PX:
was born in the State of Oregon October 25, 1932.  I was educated in Oregon with a background in Civil Engineering.  I became interested in radio about 1939.  I had a cousin in Portland that was a ham.  He had me save up my money and buy a one tube Knight receiver.  I went on to build other radio components.  I love building as much of my own equipment as possible.  As you can see, the amplifier in the picture I built myself.  It is capable of the legal limit and then some.  It was built using spare parts that belonged to my mentor, W7NI, and works very well.  I have built another amplifier using a pair of 4-1000 A's.  It will go on line soon.  It is equivalent to a Henry 8.  I was granted my tech license 2/11/02.  Twenty-one months later I was given my Extra Class license.  I joined the Bill Bennett Family Group in 2003 and soon became an alternate controller.  The radio that I am using is a Drake TR7 transceiver.  The antenna is a Force 12 C19XR on a Rohn 25 tower 105 feet high.  I now live in the coast range of Northwest Oregon.  I hope this will give you some idea of what is going on up here in Oregon.
